IT Audit Senior Manager (Head of IT Audit) – (Santa Clara, CA or Tempe, AZ)

We have been engaged to recruit for a Senior Manager (Head of) IT Audit for the bank that is the financial engine of Silicon Valley and innovation around the world.  This is the bank of choice for roughly 50% of venture-capital-based companies (and VC Firms) in the United States – and roughly half of innovation-based IPOs over the past two years.  They are now actively expanding to innovations centers around the world, including the UK, Germany, China, and Canada.   This position can be located in Santa Clara (CA) or in Tempe (AZ).

The IT Audit Senior Manager will report directly to the Head of Internal Audit and be responsible for the IT Audit Program.   You will lead risk assessment, audit plan creation and execution.   You will be responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders in the organization, participating in IT Risk related steering committees/projects, and managing and mentoring IT Audit staff and co-sourced resources.

You will bring to the role strong technical skills, with an emphasis on Cyber security and privacy, a risk-based orientation, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

What would make you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field; Masters’ a plus
  • Relevant professional certification: CISA, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GPEN, GSLC, or other relevant technical certifications
  • 10+ years progressive experience in Technology Audit and or related areas (cyber security)
  • 5+ years at Managerial or Leadership level, including:
    • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the capability to work on multiple projects with minimal direction in a dynamic and fluid environment with rotating priorities
    • Experience managing and mentoring junior staff (and co-sourced resources)
  • Big 4, financial services, or tech company experience highly valued
  • Strong technical background and knowledge, encompassing areas like:
    • Network and infrastructure architecture
    • Operating system/database administration & security
    • Threat and vulnerability assessment
    • Infrastructure and web application security
    • Identity and access management
    • Incident response
    • Cyber security, defense-in-depth, kill-chain
    • Attack and penetration testing and/or cyber incident response
    • SDLC (Waterfall / Agile) & Change Management
    • Data management, data protection, and data privacy
    • Cloud security
    • Business continuity and disaster recovery
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Relationship-oriented, and collaborative style
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
